ALASKA- the 49th State
Welcome to Fish The 49th, your premier fishing charter experience! After traveling to Alaska multiple times, we discovered the stunning beauty of Homer and fell in love with its incredible fishery, environment, and friendly community. We decided to make this paradise our home. We acquired an amazing boat, the "Sea-Gar," inspired by a passion for fishing and cigars. We can't wait to share the unforgettable adventures we’ve found with our guests!

Catch Regulations and Limits
Tailored Trips
We know the up to date requirements from the Alaska Department of Fish & Game for this season. We will let you know the current limits and how many fish we can have in possession ( on the boat in total for each species)
The regulations are updated at the beginning of each new fishing season.
Couples trips, Girls Only, Corporate Events, Combination Tours or Generational fishing trips- we can help curate an amazing day on the water for the experience you want! We can also accommodate special needs or additional assistance. Work with our crew to dial in the details to maximize your trip. Email Capt. Steve for more information.

Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.
We manufacture our own bait plastics and grubs. This allows us to focus on colors, glows, and actions that excel in our fishery. More importantly in order to reduce impact on our landfills and protect our environment, we reuse damaged plastics to create new grubs.

Mooching For Salmon!
We love to fish and be hands-on! Searching for an alternative to just sitting back and watching as we troll for salmon, we discovered Mooching. Mooching for salmon is an active, rod-in-hand saltwater technique using a 2-hook leader (often 6-7 ft), a 2–10 oz banana sinker, and herring to mimic wounded baitfish. It involves drifting or slow-trolling, dropping bait to specific depths, and reeling up slowly to trigger bites.
